Required Documents
For Spain Visa

1-Valid passport

 

  • Have at least two blank pages.
  • Bear the applicant’s signature.
  • Not be more than 10 years old.
  • Be valid for at least 3 months beyond the expiration date of the requested visa.
  • If the applicant has used any previous passports, they should also be submitted with the application, if applicable.

 

2-Passport-sized photos

 

To meet the photo requirements for your visa application, your photo should have a passport size of 3.5 x 4.5 cm and be taken within the last 6 months. It must be on a plain white background, and your face should be directly facing the camera with all your facial features clearly visible.

6-Documents pertinent to your trip

  • A travel itinerary or plan.
  • Proof of return to the country of residence or a forward ticket to another country.
  • Reason for travel to Spain.
  • Flight reservations.
  • Proof of financial means, such as bank statements for the last 3 months, personal properties, and/or other assets.
  • Proof of accommodations, including the booking reference number, location, and contact number of the hotel.

7-Travel medical insurance

  • A valid travel medical insurance that covers the entire visa period is required.
  • Your travel medical insurance must be valid in all Schengen countries.
  • Minimum coverage of 30,000 EUR must be purchased.
  • The confirmation letter or insurance document must clearly state the validity, duration, and extent of the insurance coverage.

8-Employment letter with the following information:

  • Name and address of employer
  • Nature of employment
  • Starting date of employment
  • Salary
  • Purpose of travel
  • Duration of time off from work for travel

9-Additional documents required – Scans (copies) of:

  • Personal-ID page of passport.
  • Older Schengen visas (if relevant).
  • Residence permit (if relevant).

10-Applicants below 18 years old

Applicants who are minors (below 18 years old) are required to submit the following additional requirements:

  • Copy of birth certificate.
    • In case the minor applicant is adopted, adoption documents must be submitted. 
    • If the minor applicant’s parents are divorced, divorce papers must be provided. 
    • If the minor applicant’s parents are deceased, death certificates are required as well.
  • Letter of consent from both parents or legal guardians.
  • Passport copies of both parents or legal guardians.

Additional documents may need to be provided in support of your travel visa application.

Application steps

  1. Gather all the necessary documents.
  2. Indicate “Tourism” as the purpose of travel on the visa application form.
  3. Determine the number of entries required for Spain or the Schengen area.
  4. Complete the application form.
  • The application process for a Spanish Schengen visa may differ depending on the applicant’s location. It is possible that candidates will need to obtain the online form, fill it out, and then print it, which can be obtained by clicking on this link.
  • Submit the paper copy to the Spanish consulate or visa processing center.
  1. Schedule a visa appointment, if applicable.

  • Typically, applicants for a Spanish Schengen visa are required to schedule an in-person appointment at the nearest Spanish Consulate or visa center to submit their application. However, there is also an option to submit the application without a prior appointment during regular operating hours. To confirm whether an appointment is necessary, it is advisable to get in touch with the Spanish consulate or visa center.
  1. Submit your Spain Schengen visa application.

  • Take note that the submission of visa applications for a Spanish Schengen visa should be made at least 15 days before the travel date, but not more than 6 months in advance of the travel date.
  • Normally, applicants are required to submit their visa applications in person at the Spanish Consulate or visa processing center. 
  • However, the submission procedures may vary depending on the specific consulate or center. 
  • To obtain information on the visa application submission procedures, it is recommended to visit the website of the chosen consulate.
  • The collection of biometric data, specifically fingerprints, is usually mandatory for applicants. However, children below the age of 12 are not required to provide fingerprints. 
  • Applicants who have already submitted their fingerprints within the last 59 months may not need to resubmit them.
  • There may also be a possibility that applicants will be asked to return for an interview regarding their travel plans on a different date.

  1. Pay the visa application fee.

Spain Visa Fees

  • The fee for applying for a Turkish visa is 758.90TL for a single entry and 2,542.20TL for multiple entries. In addition to the visa fee, applicants are required to pay a separate non-refundable service fee with their application.

    • Where to apply

  • Applications should be submitted either through the Spanish Consulate or a visa application center that is connected with Spain.
  • In countries without any Spanish consulate, applications may be submitted through a Schengen state consulate representing the interests of a Spanish consulate.
  • Applications should be submitted only in the country of citizenship or residence.

    • For approved visa applications:

  • Applicants must ensure that the information on the visa is complete and valid upon collection.
  • Applicants who have received their Schengen Visa for Spain should remember the following things:
  • inform the Spanish Consulate or visa application center of any change to your itinerary after submission is completed. The approval of a Schengen visa does not guarantee entry upon arrival to Spain or other countries in the Schengen area. Additional documents pertaining to your financial means or accommodation may still be required to gain entry to Spain or other Schengen areas.

    • For denied visa applications

  • In case of a rejection of the Spanish Schengen visa application, you have the right to appeal the decision.
  • The appeal process commences with obtaining the standard visa refusal form that contains the particulars of the grounds for rejection and the appeal procedures.
  • Appeals may be submitted to the same consulate that denied the initial visa application.
  • An alternative option is to submit an appeal to the administrative division of the High Court of Justice of Madrid, within a period not exceeding 2 months after receiving the refusal.
  • It is necessary to pay a non-refundable fee to process the appeal.
