For Slovenia Schengen Visa

Documents for a Slovenian Schengen visa application must be completed or translated into English or Slovene.

Valid passport

  • 2 or more blank pages
  • Bearing the signature of the applicant
  • Not older than ten years
  • Valid for at least three months after the requested visa expires
  • Previous passport, if applicable

Passport-sized photos

  • Size 3.5 x 4.5 cm
  • Plain white background
  • Taken within the past 6 months
  • Forward-facing with facial features visible and clear

  • A forward ticket to another country or evidence of return to the country of residence
  • The reason for visiting Slovenia
  • Reservations for flights
  • Proof of financial capability (bank statements for the most recent three months, personal property, or other assets)
  • Proof of lodging (including booking reference number, address, and hotel contact information)

Travel medical insurance

  • Valid for the duration of the visa
  • Valid across all Schengen nations
  • The required minimum coverage amount is EUR 30,000.
  • The confirmation letter or insurance paperwork must clearly indicate the terms of your insurance, including the extent, duration, and validity of your coverage.

Employment letter with the following information:

  • Name and address of employer
  • Nature of employment
  • Starting date of employment
  • Salary
  • Purpose of travel
  • Duration of time off from work for travel

Scans (copies) of:

  • The passport’s personal ID page.
  • previous Schengen visas (if relevant).
  • Residence permit (if relevant).

Applicants below the age of 18 are required to submit the following additional requirements:

  • Copy of birth certificate
    • Documents proving the adoption of the underage applicant are needed.
    • Divorce decrees are needed if the applicant’s parents are divorcing.
    • Death certificates are necessary if the minor applicant’s parents have passed away.
  • A letter of approval from the parents or other responsible adults
  • Copy of both parents or legal guardians passports

It may also be necessary to submit supplementary documents in relation to your travel visa application.

Slovenia Schengen Visa Fees

The typical application fee for a Slovenian Schengen visa is 80 EUR. However, some applicants are free from costs, such as those who are applying for most student visas and visas for children under the age of 6. A separate, non-refundable service fee will generally need to be paid with each application.

Slovenia Schengen Visa Application Steps

  1. Prepare all the required documents.
  2. Select “Tourism” as the reason for travel on the visa application form.
  3. Decide the number of entries needed to Slovenia or the Schengen area.
  4. Fill out the application form.
  • Depending on where you are applying from, the Slovenia Schengen visa application process may differ. The E-Visa Slovenia system, which may be accessed here, may be used by applicants.
  • Create an account.
  • Fill out and print the application form.
  • The form must be submitted to the Slovenian Consulate or visa processing center.
  • Alternatively, the form may be downloaded, completed, and printed out from here.

    5. Schedule a visa appointment, if applicable.
  • Most applications must be submitted in person at a scheduled appointment at the closest Slovenian Consulate or visa facility. Alternately, applications may be submitted during regular business hours without an appointment. If an appointment is required, get in touch with the Slovenian Consulate or visa center.

    6. Submit your Slovenia Schengen visa application.
  • Note: Applications must be received at least 15 days but no sooner than 6 months prior to the date of travel.
  • The consulate or visa processing facility must often receive applications in person. The submission processes, however, could differ slightly from one another.
  • Fingerprints—a form of biometric information—will probably be requested from applicants. The gathering of fingerprint data on children under the age of 12 is prohibited. Most likely, applicants whose fingerprints have already been submitted within the last 59 months won’t be required to do so again.
  • It’s possible to request that candidates return at a later time for a trip-related interview. Most appointments are typically arranged two weeks after the visa application has been submitted.

    7. Pay the visa application fee.

When to Apply for Slovenia Visa

Visa requests must be submitted at least 15 days but no sooner than 6 months prior to the intended date of travel.

Where to apply

  • Either the Slovenian Consulate or a center for visa applications affiliated with Slovenia shall receive applications.
  • Applications may be submitted through a Schengen state consulate that represents the interests of a Slovenian consulate in nations without a Slovenian consulate.
  • Only applications from citizens or residents of that nation should be submitted.

Slovenia Visa Processing Time

Application processing for Slovenian Schengen visas typically takes 15 days. However, occasionally it requires more time.

For approved visa applications:

  • Prior to collection, applicants must verify that the information on the visa is accurate and current.
  • Applicants who have obtained their Slovenia Schengen Visa should keep in mind the following:

    • Any changes to your itinerary after submitting your application should be communicated to the Slovenian Consulate or visa application facility.

    • The granting of a Schengen visa does not ensure admission upon arrival in Slovenia or other Schengen nations.

    • To enter Slovenia or other Schengen countries, you might still need to provide more documentation about your financial situation or lodging.

 

For denied visa applications:

  • You have eight days to appeal the judgment if your Slovenia Schengen visa application was denied.
  • Picking up the normal visa refusal form, which also includes the specifics of the rejection and the appeals process, is the first step in the appeals process.
  • There is a 153 EUR non-refundable appeal fee that must be paid.
  • The appeal must be made in writing and either be translated into Slovene or submitted in Slovene.
  • The same consulate that declined the visa application must receive the appeal.
  • The appeal will be forwarded to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia for review.
