Review of the series "Falcon and Winter Soldier". You a summons
The second and third parts of the “Captain of America”, bashfully called us "First Avenger" , Many critics proclaim the best films in the cinematic Marvel. They are distinguished by an unusually cold picture from other tapes in MCU, a reduced concentration of humor, as well as attempts to raise serious topics and introduce conflicts more complicated than “a giant hole in the sky, it is urgent to break the villain to shut it up”. To "Dark Knight" Still far away, but nothing darker and mundane than the same “winter soldier” in the franchise. However, after "Confrontations" Rousseau brothers went to make the largest crossover of all times and peoples: "Infinity War" In a bunch with "Final". And although there was also enough drama in it, the characteristic spirit of the “first avenger” was lost behind the battles of a planetary scale.
They tried to return it in the second official series in the Marvel film outstanding, which was initially supposed to be the first.
So, Steve Rogers retires, passing his title to Sam "Sokola" Wilson. Only now Sam is not at all ready for such responsibility, and therefore almost immediately passes the star-striped shield to the museum to serve as a monument to his comrade in the Avengers. But people in the government are much more decisive: they represent the world of their new Captain America. In a blue suit, John Walker flaunts – a real officer, a true patriot and hero of the Afghan campaign. The audience is delighted with him, unlike the falcon and Bucky, between which the conflict smolders due to the fact that Sam ignored Steve's last will. But they will have to suppress mutual hostility, because in Europe the “flag chisels” are gaining power – radicals opposing the restoration of the world order, as it was before the click of Tano. And the main problem is that the terrorists somewhere got a serum of super-aldat.
As already mentioned, "Falcon and winter soldier" should have been the first official Marvel Studios series, and it was planned to release it last summer, after "Black Widow". But, as we know, the pandemic prettyly faded the plans of the studio bosses, so we did not even see the “widow”, and we received the show about the friends of the captain of America only now. And the fact that it was from him that Kevin Faygi and the company were going to start the serial era, becomes obvious from the second episode. After all, unlike the experimental "Wanda/Vizhn" , "Falcon and Winter Soldier" is felt by the usual Mcu film – only extended for four hours. It is precisely what stretched, because some moments, scenes, and even storylines literally ask for a knife. As if the authors received the long -awaited freedom in the timing, but never decided how to use it.
But there was a use of freedom from the status of family cinema. This is at blockbusters aimed at billions of billion fees, you can’t weave too much politics, otherwise, you see, China will not like something. The series on the Stream Service is another matter. So the acute topics on the agenda in the English -speaking media, the "Falcon and the Winter Soldier" does not escape.
In the first place, of course, is a heavy share of the African American population. Once again, we note that the series starred before the events of last summer and the popularization of the BLM movement, but the question in recent years is already relevant. Actually, the whole arch of Sam is built around his collision and the fight against racial discrimination. Then the banker will look askance at Wilson's sister and refuse a loan, the police will stop on the street and behind, only recognizing the avenger, then they will be revealed that once a dark-skinned super-soldier fought for America, the very existence of which the government chose to hide. Yes, and the falcon initially refuses the shield with the star not because it doubts itself, but because it doubts that there is behind this shield and that it should symbolize. Marvel did not dare to even dare to such a frank conversation on the racial question even in "Black Panther".
Action in the series surprisingly tough. It seems to go out the “Falcon and the Winter Soldier” on the big screen, it would not be possible to meet the PG-13 rating
The second in the list is the topic of radicalism and the struggle for civil rights. The viewer is trying to convince that the "circus of the flags" are fighting, in general, for the right cause. Say, the consequences of the second click, which sharply increased the population of the planet by half, the world governments conspired to solve the most oak way: to redistribute all the benefits in favor of those who returned, restore the previous borders of states and disband refugee camps. People have adapted to the new world for five years, searched a refuge, started new families, and now heartless officials drive them back. The problem is that for six episodes the series does not really show how it was and how it became. As a result, the goal of the “flag orpers” for the viewer remains an abstraction, a set of general phrases about justice and equality. We must empathize with the radicals only because they are guided by a curly girl with the face of Tikhoni-first-year olds, for the well-being of which for some reason Sam is careful. And this despite the fact that by the middle of the season it resolutely moves from activism to terrorism. No, its methods, of course, condemn, but real villains show officials who, they say, do not think enough about ordinary people. No one offers no intelligible alternative to the strategy they have chosen.
Zemo puts on his purple mask once per series, and then rather for the sake of the fanservice
Alas, arguing about the high, the creators somehow made up that in a good way it should be the basis of the entire series: the relationship of Sam and Bucky. As already mentioned, the first at least has his own arch, but the former winter soldier in the plot got the role of a fellow traveler. For the disclosure, half of the first episode and a pair of scenes of the latter are allotted-the rest of the time the character of Sebastian Stan is simply borage others with a harsh look, fights and occasionally transferred with a falcon with any witty phrases. And this is in the series, which was prophesied by the title of superhero "Death weapons".
But the anti -Heroes came to the glory. Baron Zemo, whom the trailers painted the main antagonist, in fact turned out to be a guide for the falcon and tank in the underground world of crime, and at the same time an inexhaustible source of sarcasm and the most sound thoughts in the show. But the new Captain America – John Walker manifests itself much brighter. He, in principle, claims the title of the most ambiguous and complex character in Mcu. At first it seems that we just have a tracing paper with a Humileder from "Boys" , But the authors almost immediately make it clear that a living person who sincerely wants to do good is hiding under the mask. It simply does not always work: Waker has a dark past, problems with self -control and a whole lot of complexes. He is not at all the ideal Cap that Steve Rogers was – and that is why it is interesting to watch him up to the final series.
Sometimes John Walker looks quite convincing in the image of a new cap
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier really continue the traditions of the “First Avenger”, but, unfortunately, not only glorious. At the end, the series, like the original "Winter Soldier" , literally brushes away from the audience with action instead of giving a truly emotional and meaningful finale. Military scenes, by the way, are stably good for all six episodes, but this is somewhat diverging with the general message that sometimes people need to sit down and talk, and not just beat each other's muzzles.
The show is distinguished by an attempt to speak on important topics for America and the world, however, there are nothing to tell the creators, in general, nothing. A typical Hollywood preaching is the answer to every painful question, which we heard, say, in "Wonderland: 1984". View "Falcon and the Winter Soldier" stands at least for the sake of colorful characters, but after "Wanda/Vizhn" this is a small but clear step back. Let's see where the franchise will move "Loki".
