When to Apply for a Luxembourg Schengen Visa

To apply for a visa, it is required to submit the application at least 15 days prior to the intended travel date, while ensuring that it is not submitted more than 6 months in advance of the travel date.

Where to apply

It is necessary to submit the applications in person, either at the Luxembourg Consulate or at a consulate of a country that handles the consular matters of Luxembourg. If there are no Luxembourg consulates available in a particular country, it is possible to submit the applications through a consulate of a Schengen state that represents the interests of a Luxembourg consulate. It is advised to submit the visa applications only in the country where the applicant holds citizenship or resides. If an applicant needs to submit their visa application through a consulate or visa processing center in a country where they are legally present but not a resident, they must provide a valid reason. Acceptable reasons may include having a valid permit or visa to stay in the country, and having received approval from the consulate in that country to submit the application through them and process it. It is possible for applicants to find the locations of Luxembourg Consulates and visa application centers.
