For UK Visa

Documents must be in English or Welsh or translated into English or Welsh. Translated documents should be independently verified by the Home Office. Translations must have the following:

The Home Office requires that all documents submitted for a visa application must be in English or Welsh, or if in another language, must be translated to English or Welsh. Any translated documents must be verified independently by the Home Office and meet the following requirements:

  • Confirmation of accuracy from the translator.
  • The date of the translation.
  • The full name and signature of the translator
  • Contact details of the translator.

Required Documents for UK Visa

  • Passport
  • – Valid for the entire duration of your stay in the UK Must have at least one blank page for the visa.
    – Must have at least one blank page for the visa.
  • A letter from employer showing the following information:
  • – The official headed paper of the company.
    – Description of the applicant’s role in the company
    – The applicant’s salary and length of employment.
  • A letter from the education provider for students showing the following information:
  • – On headed paper.
    – Details of student’s enrolment and leave of absence.
  • Business registration or invoices if the applicant is self-employed:
  • Previous passports and travel documents that include records of any previous travels.
  • Confirmation of legal residence if the applicant is in a country where they are not citizens.
  • Financial proof of sufficient funds, such as :
  • – Bank statements.
    – Building society books.
    – Employment letter that indicates the applicant’s employment details (start date, role, salary, and contact details of the company).
  • Applicants having sponsors for their travel must provide proof of the following:
  • – The type of support provided.
    – To what extent the support applies to any dependent family.
    – How the support is provided.
    – The relationship between the sponsor and the applicant.
    – Proof of the legality of the sponsor’s residency in the UK.
  • If the applicants are minors they must provide the following:
  • – Proof of the relationship between the applicant and at least one of the parents or guardians, such as birth certificates or adoption papers.
    – A copy of the photo page of the passport of at least one of the parents or guardians or any other official document with a signature if they don’t have a passport.
  • If the applicants are minors and traveling without parents or guardians they must provide the following
    – Signed letter from at least one parent or guardian, that confirms the minor’s travel arrangements, including :
    – The parent or guardian consent for the minor to travel to the UK.
    – The number of the passport of the adult the minor is traveling with.
    – The name of the person who will be responsible for the minor while staying in the UK.

Application steps

  1. Prepare the required documents
  2. Check your eligibility for a UK tourism visa.
  3. Start the online application process.
  4. Select the country where you will provide your biometrics.
  5. Register your email.
  6. Fill out the form and answer the questions that will be shown in English, and check your answers before clicking “Continue”.
  7. Click the mandatory documents in the “Documents” page.
  8. Proceed to the “Declaration” page to confirm your request.
  9. Submit the form.
  10. Make the payment for the visa fee online.
  11. Book an appointment with the VAC (Visa Application Center) for the collection of your biometric information including a facial photograph and fingerprints.
  12. Submit documents through the visa application center.
  13. Note: The visa application center may keep your passport and documents while your application is being processed.

Where to apply

applications must be initiated and submitted online and appointments must be booked through the nearest Visa Application Center.

When to apply

It is better to apply for a UK visa at least 3 months before the planned travel date.

UK Visa Processing Time

The UK visa application process usually takes about 3 weeks from your date of appointment. Processing time can be shortened by paying extra fees.

For approved visa applications:

  • Visa applicants who have applied at the visa application center will receive a vignette, commonly known as a sticker, which will be placed in their passports. The passport, containing the vignette, will either be returned to the applicant by the VAC, or the applicant may be required to collect it in person.
  • Applicants who used the mobile application to verify their identity will be granted the ability to access their immigration status details via online means

  • Both the vignette and the online status will include the following information:
  • - The visa type.
    - The visa conditions.
    - The start and end dates of the visa.
  • If applicants notice any mistakes on their vignette, they should contact the visa application center (VAC) as soon as possible to request a correction.
  • In case an error is identified on the visa vignette after the applicant arrives in the UK, it is necessary to inform UK Visa and Immigration within three months of arrival. If not reported within this timeframe, the applicant will need to submit a new visa application.
  • Applicants who have received their UK visa should take the following things into consideration that some documents are required at the border including:
  • Fill out the form.
  • Submit the form then you will receive a confirmation email including the attached document.
  • Print a copy of the document sent in the email. Download the document on your phone or computer.
  • The QR code on top of the document will be scanned by border control to check if you have completed the form successfully.

  • For denied visa applications

  • Applicants will receive a communication via email or letter detailing the reason(s) why their visa application was rejected.
  • If the passport was retained as a component of the application process, it will be given back.
  • The letter of refusal will specify whether the applicant is entitled to an administrative review or an appeal regarding the immigration decision.
