For Slovakia Schengen Visa
Besides English and Slovak, a number of other languages are also offered on the application forms for Slovakian visas. However, if your application includes any supporting documents that are not in English or Slovak, they must be accompanied by an official translation into one of those two languages. Capital letters must be used while filling out the paperwork for a Slovakian visa.
Valid passport

Travel medical insurance
- Valid for the duration of the visa

- A minimum of 30,000 EUR in coverage must be acquired.
- The confirmation letter or insurance paperwork must clearly indicate the terms of your insurance, including the extent, duration, and validity of your coverage.
Employment letter with the following information:
- Name and address of employer
- Nature of employment
- Starting date of employment
- Salary
- Purpose of travel
- Duration of time off from work for travel
Scans (copies) of:
- The passport’s personal ID page.

Applicants below the age of 18 are required to submit the following additional requirements:
- Copy of birth certificate
- Documents proving the adoption of the underage applicant are needed.
- divorce decrees are needed if the applicant’s parents are divorcing.
- Death certificates are necessary if the minor applicant’s parents have passed away.
- A letter of approval from the parents or other responsible adults
- Copy of both parents or legal guardians passports
It may also be necessary to submit supplementary documents in relation to your travel visa application.
Slovakia Schengen Visa Fees
A Slovakian Schengen visa application typically costs 80 EUR. Certain applicants, such as those for most student visas and visas for children under the age of six, are free from payments. A separate, non-refundable service fee will likely be required of applicants along with their application.
Slovakia Schengen Visa Application Steps
- Prepare all the required documents.
- Select “Tourism” as the reason for travel on the visa application form.
- Decide the number of entries needed to Slovakia or the Schengen area.
- Fill out the application form.
- Depending on where you are applying from, the Slovakian Schengen visa application process may differ. The Slovakian Electronic Visa Request, which can be accessed here, may be required of applicants. After you submit the form, you will receive an email with a link to print the application.
- As an alternative, you can download and finish the form here. Print out the application, sign it, and mail it to the Slovakian Consulate.
5. Schedule a visa appointment, if applicable.
- Most applications must be submitted in person at a scheduled appointment at the closest Slovakian Consulate or visa facility. Alternately, applications may be submitted during regular business hours without an appointment. If an appointment is required, get in touch with the visa office or Slovakian Consulate.
6. Submit your Slovakia Schengen visa application.
- Note: Applications must be received no sooner than six months before the date of travel, but no later than 15 days prior.
- Application materials must often be delivered in person to the Slovakian Consulate or a visa processing facility. There might, however, be a few variations in the submission processes. The consulate will occasionally waive the need to visit them in person. The parent or legal guardian of the kid must personally submit the application.
- It is anticipated that applicants will be required to provide their fingerprints as biometric information. Children under the age of 12 are excluded from having their biometric data collected, however, all applicants must have their faces photographed.
- Applicants may also be asked to come back on another date for an interview regarding their trip.
7. Pay the visa application fee.
When to Apply for Slovakia Visa
Visa requests must be submitted at least 15 days but no sooner than 6 months prior to the intended date of travel.
Where to apply
- Applications must be personally submitted through the Slovakian Consulate or the consulate of a nation that handles Slovakia’s consular matters.
- Applications may be submitted through a Schengen state consulate that represents the interests of a Slovakian consulate in nations where there is no Slovakian consulate.
- Only applications from the nation of residency should be filed.
- The Slovakian embassy in the country where the applicant is lawfully present, but not a resident, must give permission for the applicant to do so and must agree to process the application before it can be submitted through a consulate or visa processing facility there.
Slovakia Visa Processing Time
Application processing for Slovakian Schengen visas typically takes 15 days. However, it can take up to 60 days in rare circumstances.
For approved visa applications:
- Prior to collection, applicants must verify that the information on the visa is accurate and current.
- Applicants who have obtained their Slovakia Schengen Visa should keep in mind the following:
- Any changes to your itinerary after submitting your application should be communicated to the Slovakian Consulate or visa application center.
- Entry into Slovakia or any other Schengen country is not assured by the approval of a Schengen visa.
- To enter Slovakia or other Schengen countries, you might still need to provide more documentation about your financial situation or lodging.
For denied visa applications:
- If your Slovakian Schengen visa application was turned down, you have 15 days to appeal the decision.
- Picking up the normal visa refusal form, which also includes the specifics of the rejection and the appeals process, is the first step in the appeals process.
- The appeal must be written or include a Slovak translation. It should also include a justification for the applicant’s belief that the denial was illegal or invalid.
- The same consulate that issued the rejection must receive the appeal.
- To process the appeal, a non-refundable fee of 30 EUR must be paid.
