For Norway Visa

As a result of the Coronavirus outbreak, an EU-wide entry ban on third-country nationals was imposed by Norway and other EU and Schengen Area members in mid-March 2020. At present, the following categories of individuals from countries outside the EEA/Schengen area or the UK can travel to Norway, but they must undergo a ten-day self-quarantine:

Individuals who possess a permit for both work and residency in Norway.

Those who have family or a partner in Norway.

Employees in non-profit, religious and humanitarian organizations.

Students or workers with technical competence that is exempt from the residence permit requirement.

Children and stepchildren over the age of 21 to a person resident in Norway.

Grandparents and grandparents of a person resident in Norway.

Parents and stepparents of children over the age of 21 living in Norway.

Grandchildren and great-grandchildren of a person resident in Norway.

Children of a partner in a committed relationship (dating for at least nine months and having met in person).

Spouse, registered partner, cohabitant and children of Norwegian citizens residing abroad and travelling to Norway together with the Norwegian citizen.

General required documents for a Norway Visa Application:

  • To apply for a Norway Schengen Visa, the first step is to download the application form and fill it out completely and honestly. Alternatively, you can fill out the form electronically and then print a hard copy.
  • 2 photos that comply with the passport format must be included in the application; the photograph should be a recent full-face portrait with a light-colored backdrop. For further information on photo criteria and specifications for a Norway Visa, read the guidelines.
  • You will need your passport and copies of your previous visas. Your passport must be valid for at least three months beyond your return date and have at least two blank pages.
  • A copy of a reserved return ticket is required, although it is not recommended to purchase the ticket before obtaining the visa, unless it is specifically required by the authorities.
  • You will need to provide confirmation of travel Insurance that has a minimum coverage of €30,000 for your trip to Norway and the entire Schengen area.
  • A cover letter stating the purpose of visit to Norway and itinerary.
  • A flight itinerary with dates and flight numbers specifying entry and exit from Norway is required. Learn how to make flight itinerary for visa application.
  • Proof of accommodation for the whole duration of the intended stay in Norway. Learn how to get hotel reservation for visa application.
  • Documents showing proof of civil status such as a marriage certificate, birth certificate of children, death certificate of spouse, or ration card (if applicable) are required.
  • Proof of adequate financial means for the duration of the stay in Norway is required, commonly referred to as means of subsistence. When applying for a Norwegian visa, foreign nationals must demonstrate to the Embassy or Consulate that they possess at least 500 NOK, which is approximately equivalent to 53.34€.   • Employment contract.
  • Current bank statement of the latest 6 months.
  • A certificate from the employer stating that the applicant has no objection to their travel to Norway is required. Learn more.
  • A proof of income can be provided in the form of an Income Tax Return (ITR) or Certificate of Income Tax deducted at the source of salary.

If the applicant is self-employed:

  • A copy of your business license.
  • A bank statement from the applicant’s employer showing the company’s transactions for at least the previous six months.
  • Income Tax Return (ITR).

If the applicant is a student:

  • Proof of enrollment
  • A letter of approval from the applicant’s school or university stating their permission to leave for the duration of the trip is required. Learn more.

If the applicant is retired:

  • A document that shows the pension payments made to an individual over the last 6 months.

If applicable:

Proof of regular income generated by property for the latest 6 months.

  • If the applicant will be staying with someone in Brazil, they must submit a notarized copy of an invitation letter instead of confirmed hotel reservations.

Please note that in addition to the mandatory documents mentioned above, the signed application form must be submitted along with other additional documents that may be required depending on the purpose of your Norway visa application.
