For Georgia Visa
For e-visa applications
- Passport/ Travel Document
- Valid for at least three months beyond the expiry of the visa being applied for.
- Has at least two blank pages.
- In good condition, without any unofficial markings.
- Not be more than 10 years old.
- Photograph
- The photograph submitted for the visa application must have been taken in the last six months and should accurately represent the current appearance of the applicant. The applicant’s face must be directly facing the camera, and the head’s size must be between 50% and 70% of the total height of the image, measured from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin.
- The applicant’s entire face must be visible in the photo. Wearing a head covering is permitted only for religious reasons and it should not obstruct or create shadows on the face.
- Documentation that demonstrates the purpose of the visit to Georgia, such as an invitation letter from an organization or any other appropriate document, is required.
- Proof of accommodation
- Copy of rental agreement or hotel booking, or proof of real estate
- Travel and health insurance
- Proof of sufficient financial means
- Bank statement over a period of the last 3 months
- Letter from employer indicating applicant’s position in the company and salary
- A sponsorship letter containing the sponsor’s full name, address, and contact details is required. The letter should indicate the relationship between the sponsor and the applicant, the expenses that the sponsor will cover, and details about the applicant’s intended destination and duration of stay in Georgia.
Note:
During the visa application process, all required documents must be in the form of scanned copies, which can be uploaded to the website.
For sticker visa applications
- Passport/ Travel Document
- Must have a validity of at least 3 months beyond the expiration date of the Georgia visa being applied for.
- Must have at least 2 blank pages for visa stamping purposes.
- In good condition, which means that it should not be damaged, torn, or have unofficial markings on it.
- Not be more than 10 years old, counting from the date of issuance.
- Passport-sized photo
- Must follow ICAO standards with a resolution of 300 dots per inch, 4 x 5.16 cm in size
- Completed visa application form.
- Proof of consular fee payment.
- Letter of invitation, if applicable
- The letter confirming the purpose of the applicant’s arrival in Georgia must be written by one of the following: a Georgian citizen, a person with a residence permit in Georgia, a legal entity in the country, a government ministry or office, a diplomatic or consular mission, or an accredited international organization in the country.
- The invitation for the visa application must be an original document that has been notarized, unless it has been verified through the LEPL-Notary Chamber of Georgia website, in which case a copy of the invitation will be acceptable.
- The applicant extending the invitation must be in Georgia during the time the applicant is being invited.
- Proof of fine, if applicable
- Applicants who have a history of illegal stay in Georgia are required to pay a fine and provide proof of payment in the list of required documents.
- Applicants below the age of 18 must submit the following additional requirements:
- To comply with Georgia visa requirements, a letter of consent from the legal representatives of minors or those in the category of mental disorders must be prepared and submitted to the issuing authorities.
Note:
Additional documents may be required from certain applicants applying for a Georgia visa, and they may also be requested to attend an interview to verify the accuracy and authenticity of the submitted documents.

Application steps
For e-visa applications
- Prepare all the required documents for a Georgia visa application.
- Fill out the Georgia visa application form.
- Visit the official website of the Georgia e-visa portal and fill out the application form in English.
- Submit the Georgia visa application form online.
- Upon submission of the Georgian visa application, an email will be sent to the provided email address. It is important to confirm the application within an hour of receipt of the email, otherwise, the application will be cancelled.
- Pay the Georgia visa fee.
- Once the email verification step is completed, the applicant can proceed with payment which must be made within 5 hours of receiving the notification email. Failure to make payment within this timeframe will result in the e-visa application being cancelled. Upon successful payment, the applicant will receive a notification email with details of the payment made and the application.
For paper application
- Gather all the documents required for a Georgian visa.
- Decide which visa category you would like to obtain.
- A short-term Georgia visa can be issued as either a single entry or multiple entries. The duration of the visa will depend on the length of stay requested by the applicant on the visa application form, but cannot exceed 30 days. A multiple-entry visa of this type can be issued for a maximum of 5 years, but the length of stay per visit cannot exceed 90 days.
- A long-term Georgia visa is available for multiple entries, and it is only issued for a period of 90 days. The visa is valid for one year.
- Fill out the Georgia visa application form.
- To apply for a Georgia visa, one should visit the official website of the Georgia E-Application System, fill out the Georgia visa application form, and attach all the necessary documents as required.
- Submit the Georgia visa application form online.
- Once the Georgia visa application is submitted online, it is necessary to print it out, sign it, and submit it to the Georgian embassy or consulate along with the required documents.
- To submit the required documents, applicants must schedule an appointment with the Georgia consulate, embassy, or authorized visa application center (VAC). It is also possible to schedule an appointment during the online application process through the Georgia E-Application System.
- Attend your Georgian visa appointment.
- Applicants should submit the printed and signed application form along with the other required documents during their scheduled appointment at the Georgian consulate, embassy, or authorized VAC. Applicants are expected to come alone for their appointment, except in the case of minors.
- Pay the Georgia visa fees at the embassy.
Georgia Visa Fees
The cost of the Georgian visa for e-visa portal applications is US$20 plus a 2% service fee. For sticker visas, the applicant will be able to view the fee in their local currency or US dollars and the bank account details where payment should be transferred after filling out the application form. Additional commission charges may apply for international transfers. The visa fee must be paid in full before the visa application process can proceed, and it is non-refundable regardless of the outcome of the application.
Where to apply
There are two ways to submit a Georgian visa application. The first option is through e-visa applications, which must be submitted online. The second option is through sticker visa applications, which can be submitted at any Georgian Consular Office within the applicant's consular district, or at a VAC.
Georgia Visa Processing Time
The time it takes for Georgia visa applications to be processed depends on how the application was submitted. Short-term visa applications submitted through the e-visa portal take 5 working days to process, while short-term visa applications and long-term visa applications submitted through the Georgian consulate, embassy, or VAC take 10 calendar days and 30 calendar days to process, respectively.
For approved visa applications:
Upon receiving the Georgia visa, it is important to verify that all the information on it is accurate and matches the information on the passport. Any inconsistencies could result in denial of entry into the country. Moreover, holders of Georgian e-visas are required to present the following documents at the border: Passport or travel document Proof of purpose of travel to Georgia Proof of accommodation Travel and health insurance Proof of sufficient financial means
For denied visa applications
If a Georgian visa application is denied, applicants are entitled to file an appeal within ten business days of being notified of the decision. Download the Appeal Form. The appeal and all accompanying documents should be submitted in the Georgian language. If an appeal or any other document is written in a language other than Georgian, it must be accompanied by a certified translation in Georgian. To be qualified for an appeal: The applicant must be of full age. In case the visa applicant is a minor, one of their parents or a legal representative must be present or available during the application process. If the visa applicant cannot be present, a representative with a certified power of attorney may act on their behalf.
