Brazil Visa Fees

The fees for Brazilian visa applications are determined by reciprocity, which means that citizens of a particular country are charged the same fee that Brazilian citizens would be charged to apply for a tourist visa to the applicant's country of citizenship. Consequently, the visa fees for Brazil differ depending on the applicant's nationality. It's worth noting that all fees are non-refundable, irrespective of the application's outcome.

Where to apply

To apply for a Brazil visa, applicants can submit their application online using the oofficial website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and then personally submit their receipt and documents at the Brazilian consulate or embassy in their country of citizenship or residence. Alternatively, they may also choose to submit their application through a third party, or via mail or courier. However, it is important to note that citizens of certain countries may be required to apply for a Brazil visa in person at the consulate or embassy in their country of citizenship or residence.

When to apply

Applicants are advised to submit their visa applications a month before their intended departure date.

Brazil Visa Processing Time

The shortest processing time for a Brazil visa application can take 5 business days. Nevertheless, in certain situations, the processing time for a Brazil visa application may exceed the standard period.

For approved visa applications:

Having a visa does not automatically grant entry into Brazil as the Brazilian Federal Police has the authority to decide whether an individual will be allowed to enter the country at the port of entry. It is essential to verify that the information on the visa matches the passport details.

For denied visa applications

Applicants who were denied a Brazilian visa may apply again, but they must provide supporting evidence to show that the reasons for their previous application's denial are no longer valid.
