For Belgium Visa

1-Valid passport

The passport submitted as part of a Belgian visa application must meet the following criteria:

  • It should have at least 2 blank pages.
  • It should bear the applicant’s signature.
  • It should not be more than 10 years old.
  • It should be valid for at least 3 months after the expiration of the requested visa.
  • If applicable, the applicant should also submit any previous passports they have used.

2-Passport-sized photos

  • The photo must be a passport-sized photo with dimensions of 3.5 x 4.5 cm, taken on a plain white background within the last 6 months. The applicant’s face must be forward-facing, with all facial features clearly visible.

6-Documents pertinent to your trip

  • Travel Itinerary or plan.
  • Proof of return to the country of residence or forward ticket to another country.
  • Reason for travel to Belgium.
  • Flight reservations.
  • Proof of financial means (bank statements over the last 3-month period, personal properties, and/or other assets).
  • Applicants need to provide proof of their accommodation, including the booking reference number, location, and contact number of the hotel.

7-Travel medical insurance

  • A valid travel medical insurance that covers the entire visa period is required.
  • Your travel medical insurance must be valid in all Schengen countries.
  • Minimum coverage of 30,000 EUR must be purchased.
  • The confirmation letter or insurance document must clearly state the validity, duration, and extent of the insurance coverage.

8-Employment letter with the following information:

  • Name and address of employer.
  • Nature of employment.
  • Starting date of employment.
  • Salary.
  • Purpose of travel.
  • Duration of time off from work for travel.

9-Additional documents required – Scans (copies) of:

  • Personal-ID page of passport.
  • Older Schengen visas (if relevant).
  • Residence permit (if relevant).

10-Applicants below 18 years old

Applicants who are minors (below 18 years old) are required to submit the following additional requirements:

  • Copy of birth certificate.
    • In case the minor applicant is adopted, adoption documents must be submitted. 
    • If the minor applicant’s parents are divorced, divorce papers must be provided. 
    • If the minor applicant’s parents are deceased, death certificates are required as well.
  • Letter of consent from both parents or legal guardians.
  • Passport copies of both parents or legal guardians.

Additional documents may need to be provided in support of your travel visa application.

  • Passport must be valid for at least one year from the date of application

  • Reason for traveling to Turkey.
  • Flight reservations.
  • Proof of financial means to support your stay in Turkey (such as bank statements, property ownership documents, business certificates, or other assets).
  • Proof of accommodation (including booking reference number, hotel location, and contact information) or an invitation letter if staying with a host.
  1. Travel medical insurance
  • Valid through the entire visa period.
  • Copy of the insurance card and policy certificate which indicates the area of coverage in Turkey.
  1. Documents attesting to the applicant’s income status
  2. Applicants who have been invited by a person residing in Turkey must provide an invitation letter that includes the following details:
  • Inviting person’s TR Identity or Citizenship number
  • Permanent address
  • Contact number
  • Inviting person’s relationship with the applicant
  • Income status
  • Invitee’s length and purpose of stay in Turkey
  1. If an applicant is invited by an organization or company in Turkey, they should provide an invitation letter that includes the following details:
  • Tax registration certificate of the organization.
  • Guarantee of inviting organization that will provide assurances for food and accommodation expenses.
  1. Applicants below the age of 18 are required to submit the following additional requirements:
  • A minor applicant must present an official written approval from both parents or legal guardians.
  • If the parents of the minor applicant are divorced, the applicant must also provide divorce papers and official written approval from the parent who has custody.
  • In case one of the minor applicant’s parents is deceased, a death certificate must be submitted along with the official written approval from the parent who has custody of the minor applicant.
  1. Additional documents may be required to support your visa application for travel.

Note:
Applicants who possess a valid visa or residence permit issued by certain countries, such as Canada, Ireland, UK, USA, or any of the member countries of the Schengen area, are eligible to apply for a Turkish eVisa.

Application steps

  1. Gather all necessary documents.
  2. On the visa application form, choose “Tourism” as the purpose of your trip.
  3. Indicate the number of entries you require for Belgium or the Schengen area.
  4. The application form can be filled out online through Belgium’s application portal.
  • If you are a new user, you will need to register, otherwise, log in using your existing account credentials.
  • After registering or logging in to the Belgium Schengen visa application portal, applicants must fill out and submit the application form online. The system will generate a PDF copy of the application that will be sent to the applicant’s email address. It is important to print out this copy, sign it, and bring it along with the other required documents to the visa appointment.
  • Once the application is submitted online, applicants will receive a notification to schedule a personal appointment at the nearest Belgian Consulate or visa center.

Applicants who do not have access to the online application portal can obtain a printable version of the application form, which they must sign and submit together with the required documents here.

  1. Schedule a visa appointment, if applicable.

Most Belgium visa applications require applicants to schedule an in-person appointment at the nearest Belgian Consulate or visa center to submit their application. However, some centers may also allow walk-in applications during normal operating hours. It is advisable to contact the Belgian Consulate or visa center beforehand to confirm if an appointment is necessary or if walk-in applications are accepted.

  1. Submit your Belgium Schengen visa application.

Please note that visa applications should be submitted no later than 15 days before the intended travel date, but not earlier than 6 months before the travel date.

  • Different Belgian Consulates or processing centers may have different submission procedures. However, in general, it is required that all visa applications must be submitted in person at the consulate or processing center.
  • Biometric data, including fingerprints, is typically required from visa applicants. However, children who are below 12 years old are exempted from this requirement. Regardless of age, a facial photo will be taken as part of the application process.
  1. Pay the visa application fee.

Belgium Visa Fees

The typical cost of a Belgium Schengen visa application is 80 EUR. However, certain applicants are exempted from paying fees, such as most student visas and visas for children under 6 years old. Additionally, applicants may need to pay a separate service fee, which is non-refundable and must be submitted with the application.

Where to apply

  • Applications for a Belgium Schengen visa can be submitted through the Belgian Consulate or a visa application center that is authorized to handle Schengen visa applications for Belgium.
  • If there is no Belgian consulate in a certain country, applicants may submit their applications through a Schengen state consulate that represents the interests of a Belgian consulate.
  • Applications should only be submitted in the applicant's country of citizenship or where they currently reside.

  • When to apply

    It is important to note that visa applications should be submitted no later than 15 days prior to the intended travel date, but not earlier than 6 months before the travel date.

    Belgium Visa Processing Time

    On average, processing a Belgium Schengen visa application usually takes around 15 days. However, currently, due to various factors, it may take longer, ranging from 30 to 85 days. The processing time depends on the category of visa applied for, the type of visa, and the time of year when the application is submitted.

    For approved visa applications:

    One must ensure that the information on their visa is complete and accurate upon collection. Notes for those who received a Schengen visa for Belgium It is important to inform the Belgian Consulate if there are any changes to your itinerary after submitting your visa application. The issuance of a Schengen visa does not automatically guarantee entry into Belgium or any other countries within the Schengen area. It is important to note that even with an approved Schengen visa, additional documents related to financial means or accommodation may still be required for entry into Belgium or other Schengen countries.

    For denied visa applications

  • If your Belgium Schengen visa application has been rejected, you have the right to appeal the decision within 30 days of
  • receiving the rejection. After receiving a standard-issued Belgium Schengen visa refusal, applicants can follow the procedures outlined to submit a formal request to declare the reason for the appeal and request to appeal the decision.
